Frank Streeter (1918-2006) was an investor, philanthropist, and rare book collector specializing in Pacific voyages and exploration. Frank inherited the book collecting gene from his father, Thomas Streeter (1883-1965), who is regarded as the greatest American book collector of the 20th century and established one of the finest collections of Americana. Prior to Thomas’ death each of his children were allowed to keep one book from his collection and thus was born Frank’s passion for books. The sale of Frank’s books totaled over $16 million. This is a wonderfully illustrated catalogue of truly unique books, a great reference for those interested in exploration. Includes prices realized.
