A breath-taking account of the 1998 American whitewater expedition which attempted to run Tibet’s Yrlung Tsangpo river, the ‘Everest of rivers’. Balf reconstructs the fast-flowing events of this ill-fated expedition.
This book is from the Phil Hanson Collection. Phil's love of rock and ice climbing transcends to his collection of treasured books. He discovered his passion for the sport later in life, when Henry Barber gave a motivational speech at a sales meeting for the outdoor apparel company he worked for. Phil and Henry became fast friends and cherished the time they spent together climbing in Colorado, Utah, California and the East Coast. Some of Phil's most favorite climbs were in his own backyard of Eldorado Canyon in Boulder, Colorado. In addition to being an avid climber, Phil also loved skiing, fly fishing, and music. Phil spent a lifetime in the outdoor business with Woolrich for 25+ years and Orvis for 3 years.
