Roach is the second person ever to climb the highest peak on each of the seven continents. In six decades of mountaineering he has climbed in dozens of states and countries, and in 2000 he became the first person to climb North America’s ten highest peaks. He has been on fifteen Alaskan expeditions, ten Andean expeditions, and seven Himalayan expeditions, including first ascents in the kingdom of Bhutan.
