The story of Mawson’s three Antarctic expeditions during which he more than once escaped with his life. He was a member of Shackleton’s British Antarctic Expedition (1907-09), led his own Australasian Antarctic Expedition (1911-14), and then led the British, Australia, New Zealand Antarctic Research Expedition (BANZARE) (1929-31). His expeditions were truly groundbreaking and established Australia as a key player in the Antarctic. A nice work on an important figure in Antarctic exploration.
